Inspiration

I just arrived back from my first trip to New York City. WOW!

As I walked around the concrete jungle, I couldn’t help but to be impressed with the uniqueness of Manhattan. There were lights, billboards, colors and people everywhere. How could you not get creative in that environment? Inspiration flows from every corner of the Big Apple.

It got me thinking about inspiration in our creative industry and where we continue to draw ideas from.  Does it hit you like a ton of bricks or arrive slowly, piece by piece? How do we continue to come up with new ideas and designs daily?

I have challenged myself to keep my eyes out and note down interesting colors, signs, people, etc that I see in my tiny little town of Seattle. I am working to draw new ideas and inspiration from my environment and focus on creating and producing with these elements in mind.
